Oh my...I came across the website for the Sassy Pink Peppers and just had to share it with my fellow Workerettes! One of my favorite phrases is "Be not a victim, but a survivor." This particularly applies if you are facing, or have just completed, the journey through divorce. Whether it's amicable or totally horrible, it's still a loss that requires a certain type of grieving. That stage, however, can't last forever.
That's what appeals to me about this site and group: their motto is "Laugh. Dance. Move on." Perhaps I'm a little sleep deprived (it's been known to happen), but between the pink peppers and the "Dancing Queen" soundtrack...I was in gales of giggles, ladies.
Then I clicked over to their "About" page...and Martina McBride's "This One's for the Girls" is now rockin' my laptop. It's not just about the music though. Check out their mission statement.
“To empower separated and divorced women by introducing them to a social network of single female friends, enhance their level of well-being, broaden their base of support, and, as a group, increase awareness to the needs of women and children following the end of a relationship.”
Having just completed a survey for Working Mother Magazine in which my comments to their editors included a request to offer more inspiration and resources related to single moms and work-at-home moms (WAHMs), the Sassy Pink Peppers site was one for, well, sore eyes.
If you're affiliated with this "sorority", let me know! The group sounds like loads of fun...is it too good to be true or are you having fun and finding support with your separated and divorced sisters?
