We all want to look like Jessica Simpson, but since most of us don't have time blocked out in our daily schedules for "workout with my personal trainer," sometimes we can get in a physical activity rut.
The Center for Disease Control gives some great tips to sneak in exercise while going about your daily routine. For example, purposely park in a spot that is far from your destination to get some extra walking. If you do this at work, and also on your way home when you stop at the grocery store, or WalMart, you could really get some extra steps in. What about marching in place while sitting in front of your computer? This helps legs and stomach.
If you really think about it, you can get creative and come up with some things that fit you. Such as, how about the next time your child is watching The Wiggles, you join in the dancing! Quality time with your child, plus some cardio for you! If it's too easy, work in some marching in place, or reach for the stars ten times instead of two.
If you've been in-active for awhile make sure to start slowly and don't over do it. You don't want to strain any muscles that would delay your new routine. So have fun with it and write in, I'd love to hear some new suggestions that work for you.

One of my habits is to pace the house while I'm on the phone. I think it started out as a nervous habit, more than anything else (I don't like being on the phone and I don't like feeling like I should be accomplishing more than being on the phone!), but it's a habit nonetheless that makes a big difference! I read yesterday 10,000 steps a day is recommended for most folks; I think I'll pick up a pedometer and make more phone calls.
