I'm not afraid to admit it, I am an official American Idol fan. But I am far from alone in this category. It's the talk at the water cooler, and offices are taking up collection pools. So many of my friends and family were talking about the show, I had to tune in this season. What's not to like, there's talent, humor, and eye candy!
Chris Daughtry caught my attention from the start. He's hot, he has a great voice, and he's a family man. He's the kind of guy you want to win. I think this is a major appeal of the show; the fact that these are real people that the public can relate to. Everyone picks the contestant they can identify with, and they cheer them on week after week. I think people respect someone who is working towards achieving their dream, plus it gives us something to look forward to when we get home.
American Idol is a nice way to wind down after a long work day. Another appeal is that you can watch it with your children, and you don't have to worry about indecent scenes or language. If your channel surfing next Tuesday, tune in to Fox at 8 p.m. to see how the contestants handle the challenge of songs from the 50's! By the way, does anyone else have a favorite?
