
According to this article in The Brownsville Herald, U.S. Census Bureau numbers show the number of Hispanic-owned businesses growing three times faster than the national average, with Hispanic women entrepreneurs leading the way. The U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce states that these Workerettes are starting businesses at a rate of six times the national average.
Support and encouragement from within the community of women already in business means more women being willing to attempt their entrepreneurial ventures. Add in resources and educational opportunities thanks to the SBA and a bent for being your own boss, and you've got women who can make the grade, whether building their own businesses, helping with family business efforts, or supporting their SistersinBiz as workers and word-of-mouth marketers.
