Hello. My name is Amy Vedova-Phillips and I'm a 30-something, working mom, who has a passion for writing and getting the most I can out of life. I've been married for almost six years, we have a three year old son who is the center of my universe, as I know is the case for most parents.
I feel that everyday brings opportunities for new adventures, and new learning experiences. The older I get, the more questions I seem to be asking, and the more reflecting I seem to do on issues and topics that I never would have dreamed I would be so interested in.
For example, the burning question, "How do I evenly distribute my time between my full-time job, my family, and the housework?" I'm learning that there's no easy answer to this very popular women's issue. I find that it's not a matter of how much time you spend in a particular area, it's the quality of time you spend while you're there. That's why I'm finding it's very important for women to stay healthy, I mean overall wellness not just the physical. Tomorrow, I'm going to start the first of a short series dedicated to women's overall wellness titled, "A Workerette's Wellness." A key factor to your success comes with being able to step back and relax, even when it seems the world is caving in around you. Visit womenswellness4u, for some great tasting drinks that are soothing, and calming.
I am learning that no matter what issue presents itself, if I ask enough friends or co-workers, someone can usually offer a good piece of advice, which is comforting. This is one reason I'm so excited to start this new role as co-writer for the Workerette. It will give me an outlet to share with other working moms some lessons I've learned, and continue to learn. Many women, including myself, need to feel validation. They need that nod or gesture from a friend that lets them know they're not in this alone and what a relief it is to hear someone say, "I know exactly what you mean. Here's what helped me." I'm embracing this blog with both arms, I can't wait to continue to learn as as life happens, and share as I go!

Welcome Amy! I have a one-year-old so I know a little bit about the feelings you can get working and parenting simultaneously. You and Melonie have a great blog here - enjoy every minute!
