GreenStone Media has developed a new FM talk network for women. The new channel has a full roster of daily shows that are full of what women want. GreenStone has morning drive time with a trio of stand-up female comics, authors, and veteran broadcasters; midday's with an author, columnist, and commentator; and for the drive home from work you'll hear banter from a duo of comedians who are long-time friends, and moms.
According to Billboard Radio Monitor, the media company who's motto is "for women, by women," is listed with the Securities and Exchange Commission as having nearly $5 million in working capitol, including $3 million brought in through the sale to 26 investors. The SEC filing lists female celebrities Jane Fonda, Rosie O'Donnell, and Wallis Annenburg as owners.
GreenStone says it conducted several surveys to find out what women want to hear on the radio and they came up with topics such as entertainment, health and fitness, and relationships. Women surveyed also said they wanted to keep topics light and funny. So keep your ears peeled for the new station, it could be on your FM dial. If you do find it on the airwaves, write in and let us know which city, and which dial.
