How many of you Workerettes have littles in your homes these days? A growing number of us are working from home and raising a family at the same time (as you have already seen with me, my KMM colleague Marta Wells, and yesterday's interview with Jessica Harvey).
Whether you're trying to work at home and use breaks for quality time with your preschooler or you're looking for fun things to do when you get home from work or have a free moment on the weekend, you're likely to find some neat ideas in a book I found at the library this week: The Busy Mom's Book of Preschool Activities.
Broken down into eleven chapters that range from "Getting a Head Start for School" and "The Daily Grind" to "Kitchen Encounters of the Fun Kind", "Outside Explorers", "Nurture the Budding Artist" and "Rainy Day Fun", it offers quick ideas in bite-size chunks. It also offers suggestions for road trips ("on the Road"), get-togethers ("Small Gatherings"), and the holidays ("Mini-Holiday Guide").
So far I've only had a chance to flip through this one quickly in the library check out line (imagine that!), but I really enjoyed the first portion, appropriately titled "First Things First". This section serves as a reminder that Mommies need breaks too...and what to do when you finally get one!
