Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a debilitating disorder that affects your brain and multiple parts of your body. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that as many as 500,000 people in the US have CFS-like condition. Unfortunately, there is no lab or clinical tests to determine this condition, and no one knows what exactly causes it.
Health experts suggest some causes may be iron poor blood, low blood sugar, low blood pressure, environmental allergies, or a body-wide yeast infection. Beliefnet reports doctors see the syndrome in people of all ages, races, and social classes, but the incidences remain a ratio of about 4:1, women to men. Doctors say recovery time varies, and you may still experience episodes periodically.
If you are feeling totally exhausted, and can't seem to rebound, don't pass it off as just being over-worked and over-tired. Talk to your doctor about your symptoms. I'd like to hear stories from those of you that have been diagnosed, to offer suggestions to others who may be experiencing symptoms but just aren't sure.
