Feeling creative? Start plotting out what you would create to make life easier, more efficient, or more exciting, and see if you can win the Whirlpool Brand "Mother of Invention" grant!
Yesterday marked the opening of the call for entries for the 2006 contest, sponsored by Whirlpool and judged by a panel of entrepreneurs and branding experts such as Julie Aigner-Clark (of Baby Einstein fame) and Jill Blashack (founder of Tastefully Simple). According to this press release over at Yahoo! Finance, the combination of mom and inventor is a common one...one Whirlpool considers worth sparking with some seed money.
That would be $20,000 in seed money, along with a brand new home office, a two-day business boot camp, and Whirlpool appliances, for the winner. There's an additional $24,000 available to be spread between four runners-up, so don't waste time if you're the inventive type! Head over to the Whirlpool website to get all the details about submitting your invention idea.
