Dave Ibsen over at Five Blogs Before Lunch has the basics about Martha Stewart's new fan-base outreach. Apparently in late 2007 fans of The Martha will be able to post everything from photographs and scrapbook pages through a "myspace"-type social network aimed just at gals ages 25 to 45. This is a serious case of marketing effectively to women, that's for sure.
The new project follows the creation of a real-life Martha community, called Twin Lakes, where one can choose from Martha's picks for everything from faucets to light fixtures to create a "dream home". Am I the only Martha fan who can easily imagine creating a Martha home and then sharing the photos of it on a Martha page? Goodness. Talk about an entrepreneurial woman who can really teach us Workerettes a thing or two about building a brand and diversifying in one's ventures.
