Tonight I received the nicest note from Tim Stay, one of several fearless leaders here at Know More Media. In his email, Tim mentioned my "Meet & Greet" series and was kind enough to direct me to further information about some of the amazing Workerettes involved with one of the causes dear to his own heart (and supported in part by KMM).
Have you noticed the nice big button on Workerette.com that says "We Support Unitus" and offers you the opportunity to donate to the organization? Have you taken the time to look into what exactly Unitus is and what services it provides?
If not, I think you're going to want to right away.
Unitus is a non-profit organization that specializes in microfunding; small loans that help women in poverty in developing countries build on their entrepreneurial dreams and lift their families to something greater. Wow. Double wow. Tim mentioned the strength and courage of some of the Workerettes who have received loans through Unitus and I have to "second that emotion".You can read about these amazing women at the Unitus website and on their blog. Consider ways in which you, or your company, can assist them in their efforts. In the mean time, I'll get some contact information and hopefully soon some of these ladies will honor us with their own "Meet & Greet" responses!

Many thanks Melonie (and Workerette) for blogging about Unitus and our Empowering Women campaign. Your support is much appreciated! I'd love to invite your readers to check out our one minute Empowering Women launch video.
We love Workerette and what you stand for. I'll see what I can do about finding some info for a "Meet and Greet" post. In the mean time, here's the link to some personal stories from the hard-working women around the world served by our microfinance partners.
And thanks so much for the link to Unitus. We've also built some fun new badges for our Empowering Women site that you can find here.
