
Just yesterday I mentioned the 2006 American Express Women's Golf Week, but I neglected to mention something very important! Did you know that the recipient of the proceeds from that week is the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" program?
Turns out that Condé Nast, the publisher of a variety of women's magazines (including Golf for Women, Lucky, Allure, and more), is helping too. During Women's Golf Week, fifty percent of the subscription amounts for Golf for Women, Lucky, Allure, Bon Appetit, and Self will be donated to the Go Red for Women campaign as well.
Even though National Wear Red Day was back in February, it's never to late to get involved. The Go Red for Women website has tons of resources and suggestions for how women can "go red" each and every day. At the very least, please take the time to go learn about your risks of heart attack and stroke, then take a few minutes to learn how to love your heart. Whether you join the movement or simply learn a few healthy lessons, it'll be worth your time.
