No doubt we'll see great things come from 13-year old Katharine Close, the winner of the 2006 Scripps National Spelling Bee. Close is the first female to win the competition since 1999, according to yahoo news.
Close had added pressure of the event being aired on prime-time television, but she took it in stride. She says she kept her hands in her pockets each time she went to the microphone because she was rubbing a lucky angel that someone had given to her.
Was it the angel or just talent? It doesn't matter, she's off to a great start in life. "Ursprache," I've never even heard of the word, but Close said she knew it right off the bat!

Hi Amy, somehow I would guess that Amy took inspiration from the recent move, "Akeelah and the Bee." When Akeelah could not remember a word she went through the motions of skipping rope, her method of memorizing the words. Maybe there's a lesson all of us can learn. Thanks for sharing.
