Traveling with kids is always fun, but also challenging. It's exhausting trying to remember everything that you need "just in case." Pediatricians at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital offer these suggestions:
- For domestic or abroad travel, bring child's immunization records and medical history, including any medication or food allergies.
- For car trips, be sure to have plenty of water and snacks, and alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Of course, sunscreen, and insect repellent.
- International trips require even more planning because you need to check with your doctor to see if certain vaccinations or medications are needed to prevent diseases such as malaria.
- Always check on the quality of drinking water.
For any specific questions, Rainbow encourages you to call their Child Travelers' Clinic at 216-844-Rainbow.
