Meet & Greet: Rob Anderson of Blog of the Day (Part 4)
  • What challenges have you overcome during your endeavor?  Please describe something that impacted you financially or intellectually and how you got past it.

I am going through the toughest challenge right now.  I started the development of my site in my off hours from my day job.  That was slow going.  In order to complete the work, I left my day job to concentrate more fully on this project.  I have other sources of income, but that regular pay cheque will be missed dearly, and I am hoping that the revenue from the site will start to pay off.  I don’t plan for this to be my only endeavor, but it is the initial one, so it is important.  I’m sure that the things I learn from my experience with Blog of the Day will have a real impact on future projects.

An upcoming challenge will be a little trip to next week.  My best friend, Connor, is getting married over there, so I can’t miss it even though the timing is less than ideal.  A week away from my computer will make the updating difficult to say the least.  I am hoping that I will still be able to do it most days at internet cafes and the like.  The real challenge will be the small pictures of the blog pages.  I’m working on how to get around that problem.

  • What accomplishments are you most proud of during your career?  Has your business or product won any awards, mentions in the press, garnered praise in reviews or by users, or helped someone overcome a challenge of their own?  Tell us about it!

I have a lot to be proud about in my career life which has spanned through a few different territories.  I am proud that I was able to become Operations Manager of a medium sized company at the age of 30.  I currently provide online web posting of video from casting auditions in another venture.  That project is a private member to member site only.  I have had various producers and directors tell me that my service is far and above any other service that they have used for viewing auditions online.  That makes me feel good when end users recognize the work that is put into a project.
