The saying goes, "Music soothes the savage beast" and I think there is some real truth to that and so it only makes sense to play music when you feel stressed. About.com posted an article titled,"Music and Stress Relief:How To Use Music in Your Daily Life," and it is something I can really relate to.
The article offers these suggestions:
- Wake up with music to start your day feeling good. Play it while you're getting ready and I bet you'll find yourself singing along.
- Long commute, play your favorite music. Instead of swearing at the car that cuts you off, maybe you can just let it roll off your back.
- Ready to cook dinner, how about some soothing Jazz music to lighten the mood, and help you along after your stressful day.
- Ever tried dancing with your mop? It's silly but almost freeing, and definitely does relieve the stress of tackling the housework.
- Paying bills. I'm not sure anything would help relieve stress during this time but this is one time I have not tried music. It might help; a little.
- Before bed. If you have trouble winding down or falling asleep, put on some soothing music. The natural sounds CD's are great for this.
Does anyone have any other situations where music has helped?

You are 100% right! I have the clock radio set to the Classical station for a wake up alarm. Kitchen radio is set for Oldies. Car and truck radio are set for really old Oldies (1940s & 1950s). Housecleaning to classical music can't be beat! Try dusting & vacuuming to the "1812 Overture" or the "William Tell Overture"!
Incredible!
