About.com conducted a survey to find out what women are looking for in an automobile. They found most women want something easy to drive, a car that sits higher, has ample storage, is reasonably priced and easy on gas.
Based on this information, here is a top ten list:
- Honda Fit-Great front seat balance, ample trunk space, and roomy back seat. It's a subcompact car, so its easy to get in and out of parking spots, and its 1.5 liter engine gets good gas mileage.
- Mazda 3-This new subcompact car has style, space, and driving pleasure. The 4-door costs less, but they recommend going with the 5-door for a little more room.
- Mazda MX-5 Miata-This is a great set of wheels for someone without a family. Great fuel economy, small trunk, but enough room for a short weekend get-away.
- Volkswagen Jetta GLI-The compact sedan is classy, but has enough room for a family. It's has a fun, sporty feel.
- Ford Focus-It has a tall cabin, roomy trunk, and upright driving position,
6. Subaru Forester-This is on the fence between an SUV and a car. It handles well, off road and on the streets. It has lots of cargo space, and is economical when it comes to fuel.
7. Toyota Camry-This is the best selling car in the US for a reason. It's roomy, quiet, comfortable, and built to last. The 2007 redesign offers more choices.
8. Mazda 5-This is Mazda's answer to the minivan. It has sliding doors for the back seats, but built on the platform of a subcompact car. So it's a 6 seater that's fun to try on good on gas.
9. Honda Civic-Economical, easy to handle, and long lasting. They say this is without question the leader in the compact-class.
10. Mercedes-Benz E-Class- This car offers more prestige, but the E is ideally sized, big enough for the family, but small enough for easy parking.
So ladies, any cars you would recommend?
