How I missed this one I have no idea; American Girl product line. I was asking what my niece wanted for her birthday and my brother says get her an American Girl. So of course I had to ask what it was and he directed me to the website.
They have their own little world that I had no idea existed! I have a 3-year-old son, so I thought that was my excuse but apparently these dolls have been around for awhile. The line is absolutely adorable, and they have any style, color, decade, and accessory you could possible want. They will even customize your own doll!
The best thing I found about the American Girl phenom is the way they market the product. The dolls all come with some sort of prop or book that teaches the girls something about history, pride, self-esteem or culture.
American Girl also publishes a magazine that offers all kinds of game ideas, entrepreneur ideas, jokes, crafts, cleaning suggestions, and more. I think it really is a positive thing for young girls to have an interest in. The only bad thing is the price. The cheapest one I saw was about $40.00. But in today's world you can't even buy a decent outfit for a child without spending that so it might be worth checking out!

Looks like good business. Good marketing scheme.
