The world of dieting. Isn't it fun. About.com offers 10 reasons you might not be losing the weight you want.
- Not Enough Exercise. Diet alone isn't always enough. You should do at least 5 cardio workouts a week for 30 minutes.
- Not getting enough sleep. Research has shown that people who don't get at least 8 hours of sleep a night are more prone to carry extra pounds.
- Too stressed out. Stress plays havoc on our bodies physically and mentally.
- Eating too much. Just because you change your diet, if you eat a whole box of low-fat cookies, it's not good.
- Not consistent with eating and exercise. Your body needs balance and consistency.
6. Don't blow it on the weekends. Stick with it.
7. Not enough time to see results. It will take a good three weeks to a month to see the hard work start to pay-off.
8. Medical condition. If you are being very vigilant with exercise and diet and the pounds will not come off, see a doctor you may have a medical condition that is interfering with the weight loss.
9. You've hit a plateau. After diet and exercise are maintained at a certain level for certain period, you level off. You need to change your routine; increase exercise or change your diet habits.
10. You don't need to lose weight. maybe those 5 pounds you think need to come off really don't! Our bodies have a way of letting us know enough is enough.
The hardest thing for me is waiting to see results. A month feels like an eternity to wait, but once you do see some results it gives you incentive to keep going! Good Luck.
