In 2004 alone, millions of people across the US received free or low cost prescription drugs. These numbers come from the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America or PhRMA. The organization says the record number of people receiving drug assistance is accredited to a series of innovative new state Rx programs that serve as clearinghouses for more than 275 public and private prescription drug assistance programs available in the US.
So which states have Rx programs? Here's a list.
- Rx for Ohio. 877-794-6446

There are also two other programs that can help. NeedyMeds is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people find assistance with prescription medication costs and other health supplies and programs. And The Medicine Program was developed for people with no health insurance. This program assists patients with enrolling in the drug assistance programs that are now available.
I hope this information can help someone in need!
