USA Today released the findings of a study conducted by a market research group for the Oxygen Network on women and technology. The article titled, "Women like Tech Toys more than shoes," reports 3 out of 4 women chose a plasma TV over a diamond necklace.
The "Girls Gone Wired" survey interviewed 1,400 women and 700 men ages 15 to 49, to compare tech attitudes among the sexes. The study found women preferred a top-of-the-line cellphone instead of a designer pair of shoes, and a little white iPod won out over a little black dress.
The findings should open the eyes of the advertising world, as far as how they market their products. The article suggests advertisers focus on lifestyle benefits of products, rather than specifications. It seems women are much more tech savvy than the general public thought! Anyone out there tried a new tech product lately that has been useful, and worth the money?

Women are hand in hand with technology. The necklace is a kind of technology, but outdated. If Plasma TV is on top… good! What’s next?
