Housekeeping at about.com posted an article that offers some helpful hints that might provide the motivation you need to get out that mop!
- Invite someone over for dinner. Most people always clean when they know someone is coming over. Set a date that will give yourself enough time to clean without feeling stressed.
- Try a new cleaning product. I find I do this when I see a coupon for a new product that sounds appealing. Rather than looking at it as a chore, you might find it fun to see if the product will actually work.
- Try a new scent. The scent can make a big difference in your mood, and help you get the cleaning done faster. Scents and aromatherapy do have an impact on our mood.
- Clean out some clutter. Concentrate on a small area first. Tackle that space and then move on from there. Getting rid of the clutter will motivate you to clean the space.
- Rearrange a room. Moving furniture and items will make you take notice of dirt and unwanted items.
Another thing I do when its time to clean is turn on some nice, upbeat music that will help motivate me to stay busy, and sing in the vacuum at the same time.

Burning incenses and candles is also another great way of evolving a fresh environment. It helps in space clearing and motivation, and revitalizes subsided energy.
