Kids parties are a lot of fun, but the preparation can be stressful. About.com offers some easy, in-expensive ideas for outdoor party games.
- Balloon Stomp. Charades with a twist. Write out charades ideas on small pieces of paper. Blow up balloons and place the pieces of paper inside. The kids have to pop by the balloon by stepping on it, sitting on it, etc., and then they act out the charade!
- Jump Rope Relay. Two teams set boundaries for the race. At the "go" signal, the first two players race to the goal and back, jumping rope. The next player goes, and so on, until the winning team is declared.
- Hot Potato. Use a bean bag or real potato. Players stand or sit in a circle and pass the "potato" around until the music stops. The person with the potato when the music stops has to leave the game, until only one person remains.
- Hula Hoop Contest. Whoever can go the longest without the hoop falling wins.
- Outdoor Scavenger Hunt. Print a list of items they need to find, first person to find them all wins.
- Water Balloon Toss. Players toss the balloon back and forth with their partner until there is only one team left with a non-busted balloon.
- Freeze Dance. Play some fun music, when the music stops everyone freezes. Any movement and you're out!
- Bingo. Use this to cool down, or win great prizes!
If you're organized and set when the kids get there, the party goes much smoother! Have fun with it.

Thanks for the ideas. Party on.
