Fall brings beautiful sights and smells, but it also brings pollens and molds. Ivillage reports on some recommendations from the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
- Don't mow your lawn or rake your leaves if you have allergies because this stirs up the mold and pollen. If you have to do it, wear a mask to prevent breathing in the allergens.
- Check daily pollen counts in your area.
- Stay inside if neighbors are burning leaves or mowing, especially if it's windy.
- Don't hang clothes out to dry because they can collect pollens and molds.
- Keep windows closed at night to prevent pollens or molds from entering the home.
Always be sure not to overdue it on your allergy medication, even the over-the-counter ones.
