Parents magazine has a great list of car seat mistakes that all too many parents make. Because a number of them (such as skipping a booster seat or slacking off for car pool rides) happen because folks are in a hurry, it's important that we all take a look at their November issue and closely consider how we could be endangering our own children.
They also included a great list of resources you can check out online, including car-seat inspection-station locators, information about car seats and booster seats, and a list of ratings for car-seat models.
My top picks of their list are:
Having gone through all of the stages of car seat and booster seat installations with my girls, I can attest it can be time-consuming and confusing when you change seats, especially if you go from one make of car to another, or one brand of seat to another. It's well worth your time to make sure that your child's seat is secured properly, and that all of the children's caregivers (parents, grandparents, sitters, etc) are properly educated on how to use each seat. You'll be relieved if you have even the most minor of fender-benders when you know your Littles are properly secured in their seats/seatbelts!

This is extremely important for Grandparents to know! We don't always have our grandchildren for long periods of time that we need to have the car seat installed permanently in the vehicle, so it is very important to do it correctly each time!
