Those of you in the Oklahoma City area may be interested in this job listing I just spotted for call center reps. Convergys Corp is looking to hire another 100 reps to staff their customer service lines, but their call center is maxed out at the moment. They are, instead, looking to work-at-home folks to fill the vacancies.
According to this article on NewsOK.com, chosen applicants must successfully complete about a month's worth of training in the call center, then they'll be cut loose to work at home most of the week. (One day of onsite work will still be required.) Work-at-home staff will receive the same benefits as their call center counterparts, and will be provided with a computer and headset to use for the job. Applicants must provide their own high-speed internet access.
They are specifically looking for single parents and moms who want to return to work but don't want to deal with a big commute or childcare issues most of the week. If you're looking for a position along these lines and you're in the Oklahoma City/Moore area, it might be worth checking out. I know that finding childcare can be tough sometimes, not to mention expensive, so cutting it down to one day a week might be helpful!
