Shopping for gift is fun and exciting, but it can also put a strain on your wallet. But with proper planning, you don't have to go for broke when buying holiday gifts. About.com offers these helpful holiday hints:
- Decide How Much You Can Spend. Plan a budget and stick to it. Be sure to keep track of your spending as you go.
- Make a List. Put the people and what you want to purchase for them. Don't fell pressured to overspend when shopping, stick to your list.
- Look For Ways You Can Save. Hang fewer lights, buy a smaller tree, take your own pictures and use them to create cards, eat out less and use that money towards gifts.
- Don't Be Tempted By Credit Card Offers. Beware of offers that encourage you to skip payments or offer an immediate discount on purchases. These usually come with high interest rates.
