The US Small Business Administration is now accepting applications for annual awards to be given out during Small Business Week 2007. Applications must be received by December 8, 2006.
The district winners will be selected on December 29, 2006, and judges will select state winners on February 2, 2007. Then, February 21, 2007 the small business person of the year will be announced.
Some of the categories include:
- Small Business Person of the Year. (one from each of the 50 states)
- Small Business Exporter of the Year
- SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year
- Jeffrey Butland Family-Owned Business of the Year
- Phoenix Awards (for disaster recovery)
- Small Business Champions (dedicated to supporting small businesses)
Go to sba.gov for all the rules, regulations, and guidelines. Think about nominating a business, it would be a good gift for the holidays.
