All of us have our guilty pleasures when it comes to the food that we eat. For some its chocolate, while some crave those salty potato chips. It might be something that is considered healthy for you like fruit. But if you can sit down and eat 5 apples, this is a problem.
According to an article on lifescript.com, a diet vice is anything that keeps you from reachinga healthy weight. You might have multiple vices such as serving yourself huge portions, and then snacking after dinner. Once you've honestly identified your trigger, it's time to say goodbye.
The article talks about totally giving up the trigger food because you will never honestly be able to eat it in moderation. Once your body gets used to being without it, you won't crave it. So if the thought of never eating a baked potato again makes you sweat and shake from nerves, consider how good you'll feel when those unwanted pounds start to disappear. The article titled, "Trigger Foods That Make You Fat," gives some great tips for painless elimination such as trying low-fat yogurt with fresh berries if you find that your vice is ice cream.

The food industry also sabotages our intentions to eat healthy too. I started reading labels a couple of years ago and when I flipped over my favorite cookie, Fig Newtons & saw high-fructose... among the other bad ingredients, I headed over to the bakery for the real sugar & butter.
