Old man winter is sure letting us have it lately. Cold temps, strong winds, low humidity, and indoor heating can really do a number on our skin. Vitacost.com offers these tips to help keep your skin hydrated.
- Water. Drink adequate amounts to hydrate your skin from within. You should try to drink at least eight, 8-ounce glasses a day.
- Keep showers short and warm. Long, hot showers strip natural oils from your skin. Spend no more than 10 minutes in the shower and keep the water temperature below 90 degrees F.
- Use mild skin care products. The best choices are creams, soaps, lotions, and ointments that are formulated for dry skin and don't contain alcohol. Also, lotions and things that contain fragrances can irritate your skin.
- Moisturize daily. Immediately after a shower, pat dry (do not rub) and apple moisturizer to trap moisture in.
- Wear Sunscreen. Apply SPF 15 in the winter and use a higher SPF sunscreen if you're vacationing on the slopes or at the beach.
Don't forget your lips. They can be prone to dryness because that skin doesn't have oil glands. Anyone have good things to say about a certain product that gets good results?

Hi,
Great article; you know I think I read a bit more on winter-induced skin aging at Femail.com.au. Great site with lots of stuff, content and great comps!
Cheers
