A few months ago my four-year old came down with a horrible stomach virus. First day vomitting, but then for six days he had diarrhea, frequently. The poor kids bottom looked worse than a monkey's! Anyway, it was something he caught at pre-school so I wasn't concerned.
Since then, he's had a couple more instances of vomitting, and some random diarrhea. He'll go one day and be fine, next day have diarrhea at school, but then come home and nothing. The next day, nothing. I'm trying to pay attention to what he's eating but I'm not able to find any logical answer.
He loves milk, and I know kids and adults for that matter, can develop allergies. But I don't think he's lactose intolerant because wouldn't he be having trouble everyday if that was the case? He does complain of stomach pain at times, with no vomitting or diarrhea. So I saw something on television about Celiac Disease, which means you can't tolerate any food with gluten. Wheats, grains, soy, some dairy products would have to be eliminated.
The doctor has him on yogurt twice a day for two weeks right now, but he did say according to his symptoms, it could be Celiac. He wants to see if he might just need to get some good bacteria in his system. I'm trying to be calm but inside I'm freaking out. I don't want him to have to be put through tests, he's only 4! I really could use some advice and other people's experiences.
Right now I'm just hoping yogurt is going to be the miracle!

I hope the yogurt helps and he is feeling better soon!
