Great news for you writing Workerettes!  There are all sorts of conferences and contests going on over the next few months that may be of interest.  There are even some deadlines looming over us right this moment - so get cracking if you want to get involved.  (And let me know if you enter a piece and win!)

Contests ending soon:

• Boston Review Poetry Contest: Deadline for entries 1 June 2007.  Entry fee: $15.  Prizes: $1,000 and publication in the Boston Review.
• Orchid Short Fiction Contest:  Deadline for entries 1 June 2007.  Entry fee: $15.  Prizes: First place is $1,100 and publication.

Contest in progress:

• The Writer Short-Story Contest:  Deadline 30 June 2007.  Entry fee: $10 (per story).  Prizes:  $200 - $1,000.  Winning entry also receives publication in The Writer.
