Blogs for Single Moms

babyinblankie.gifIn honor of Easton Ellsworth's Blogtipping Day, I've decided to pass along some resources for single moms, or those who want to be of service to them.  Or those who have "been there, done that" like myself.

Okay, I admit it: "resources" equals "fun blogs to peruse which may make you laugh, cry and crave a Moms' Night Out".  But just as the baby in the graphic here is adorable and sweet, we all know she also has a little diaper under there somewhere that can explode with a whole bunch of you-know-what after too many servings of peas.  Life for any mom can be like that; that's why momblogs are so enjoyable to read.  You're reminded you're not the only one, and that's why I'm passing along these ladies' blogs for single parents.  Remembering that I wasn't the only one floating around in the blogosphere, juggling single parenting, working from home, dealing with a former spouse...you get the picture.

Now go visit these blogs:

  • Diary of a Single Mom on the Edge: Janeen is one of my favorite ClubMom bloggers.  Wait'll you read about her recent beach run - with four kids.  I hope her nap went well!
  • Solo Mother: Christina is so smart, so sassy - and she shoots right straight, folks.  Read this post for a good laugh.
  • Woulda Coulda Shoulda: Okay, so she's remarried like me.  But anybody who can make me almost spit water on the laptop with a comment about poking paperclips into her own eyeballs and understands single motherhood, well, she's worth reading.
  • Baggage and Bug: Baggage is a former Marine who brings a whole new perspective to single parenting - foster kids.  And talks about her chacha.  I have one word for you: IRREVERENT.  Love it!  Want to help someone out?  Check her registries and you can help the whole family.  I think all single parents should create registries and wishlists!  Shoot, all Workerettes should!  That way when a friend or family member is trying to figure out what you or the kids or your folks in eldercare could really make use of, they know where to look.  Great idea, Baggage.
