Have you been visiting the bloggers participating in the Festival of Frugality and the other smart folks who are sharing their tips and trials on the road to becoming debt free (or at least less debt-ridden)? I don't know about you, but I find these folks incredibly inspiring. Getting to know them and their situations can remind any Workerette working toward a financial goal that cutting spending, upping savings, and eliminating bad debt are all good things.
Whether you've been working for decades and are trying to prepare for retirement (with or without a spouse), considering starting a business of your own, or simply want to get the debt collectors to stop calling you, somebody out there is in the self-same situation as you, and somebody has answers that can help you out somehow. That's why I keep visiting these blogs myself. Even if their situation isn't exactly like mine, it's encouraging knowing that other bloggers are willing to share so we all learn together.
Here are three more budgety blogs I recently ran across that I think you'll enjoy visiting. Don't forget to share your favorites with me so I can go visit them too!
- Kiss of Debt: Pie charts, cold hard numbers, and an obvious commitment - oh my! I just came across this blog today and I'm enraptured. I want to see these numbers change as much as I want to see my own change! It's always fun to track someone else's success, and it's inspiring too. Can't wait to dig through the archives here.
- Need To Be Debt Free: One dear ol' Dad (and hubby and grandpa) is blogging his family's efforts to become debt free. An obvious Dave Ramsey devotee, this guy's got a straightforward, honest tone that is totally enjoyable to read. If you haven't already read some of Ramsey's books, you might need to read a little more closely to "get" some issues, but suffice it to say, checking out some of them from the library (free books, get it?) and reading them, then visiting blogs like this one will inspire you to commit in a similar manner.
- Poorer Than You: Okay, so it was the name that drew me in, and the tagline that hooked me ("I don't have any money, but I'll tell you what to do with yours!"). But there's some good info here, such as this post about building good credit scores. Besides, y'all know I love a slightly irreverent writer, and this post proves Stephanie has that part down pat. Too fun!
