Get ready, Workerettes! It's time for the annual Glamour magazine essay contest, where one lucky winner will win $10,000, take a trip to New York City, and see her story published in a future edition of Glamour.
A panel of writers, including Laura Hillenbrand, author of Seabiscuit, and Pulitzer Prize winner Jane Smiley, will judge the entries; they'll be looking for both a compelling story and an original style.
Essays must be nonfiction. Your typed, double-spaced manuscript has to be between 2,500 and 4,000 words.
Whether it's a relationship, an obstacle you encountered and overcame, or something else that made you the person you are today, I'm sure you have a story worth telling. The deadline is 16 July 2007, though, so head over to the Glamour website right away for the rest of the details and rules!

Thanks for the tip Melonie. I went to the website and could not find the contest details, even on the contests and sweepstakes page. Do you have a link directly to the contest?
