Did you get anything done this weekend? I started tackling a few things on the to-do list, personally. Now I have a little time to sit down with a big glass of water and surf. For some reason, today is the day that I'm running across loads of interesting posts where folks are sharing resources that made me think of you, my sister Workerettes. From collecting child support (something we're dealing with lately with my own ex - thankfully he's one of the fairly cooperative ones!) to all sorts of groovy parenting info, there's some great stuff out there on ye olde Web.
Here are my Surfin' Sunday picks for this week - all blogs and sites you can learn lots from:
Babble-pedia is a new site for parents that claims to be an encyclopedia of parenting knowledge. I already devoured a cloth diapering article as we're planning on giving this a shot with my son once we get settled into our new home. (I'm thinking hotel laundromats won't take kindly to me washing cloth nappies in their machines while we're on the road.) I love how there are links to related blog entries and articles - more places to learn! Major hat tip to the folks over at Apartment Therapy-Nursery for this find.- Looking for resources for collecting child support or finding a deadbeat ex? Christina Zola got on the subject recently, and not only is it just nice to know that just because you're a single parent you're not alone in your frustration, it's helpful to have some ideas of where to start the collection process. It may not be easy, but it's always handy to know where you can turn. Even folks who have remarried still have to deal with this issue from time to time, and the resources are worth tucking away in the back of your mind should you ever need 'em.
- Does summer equal allergy season for you or your family? You may want to check out Dr. Alan Greene's recent posts about preventing asthma and allergies and an asthma-antibiotics connection. They aren't comprehensive by any means (how would he have the room on a blog?), but they are enough to get you thinking and looking into things further if you're dealing with the issue yourself. Something to talk to your doc or your child's pediatrician about, for sure!
