Yesterday I mentioned the recipients of the 2007 Entrepreneur Mom Awards; today I'd like to take a moment to congratulate the companies who have been chosen as the 25 Best Small Companies. Out of hundreds nominated, these companies have really shown how benefits can add up that don't necessarily have a strict monetary focus like traditional ones, such as medical insurance or paid vacation time.
More companies (of all sizes) are learning that when it comes to recruiting and retaining excellent employees, it's not always enough to just say "we have medical and dental". In some cases, potential workers may be more interested in flex-time schedules, job-sharing opportunities, work from home options, on-site child care, and even on-site gyms and spa retreats for bonding (and relaxing) as a team.
To see who this year's winners were, check out the article online. Whether you're looking for ways to retain your own staff, create an environment for a new company you're building from the ground up, or trying to decide where to apply for a career change yourself, these lists will come in handy. Companies of all sizes can learn from the winners of this award, and all of the nominees should be congratulated; obviously only 25 were going to take the cake, so to speak, but all of them are doing something right to have been suggested to Working Mother's team!

Thanks for this article. I've recently started a job search and knowing which companies offer all the best benefits has helped me narrow my search. I look forward to reading more of your helpful blogs.
