Are you prepared to take over everything in the event of the death of your partner or a divorce? Are you ready to deal with all the paperwork involved? Do you even know where all the paperwork is, such as wills, lists of bank and credit card account numbers, and the like?
Some of you may be able to honestly answer with a resounding YES to all of the above. But if any of those questions got a no, you need to head over and read this entry about The Death Book at Dana & Dina's Budget Bootcamp. I happened across it today thanks to their blog posts over at Darla Shine's Happy Housewives Club website. Now, mind you, I know that Shine's book and site may not apply to most Workerettes, but the Budget Bootcamp blog has entries that apply to all married or commited women, be they stay-at-home moms or not.
I used to create a Word document along these lines that I printed and passed on to my mom in a sealed envelope in the event of the death of myself or my ex-husband. However, I haven't created an updated version in way too long. Time for my hubby and I to sit down and create our own Death Book - and to pass along a copy to my Ma juuust in case.
