Product Recall #3: "Bling" Pacifiers

blingrecall.jpgAs a mom of a newborn, you can bet I've spent plenty of time the past few months in both the baby stores like Babies R Us and online checking out baby goodies.  One of the things that has continuously caught my eye is pacifiers with "bling".  Now, I ended up with a boy, so there aren't quite as many options, and the main brand I've seen all "blinged" out isn't the brand I happen to choose for my kids' pacies.

However, I just learned two things: first of all, that blinged out binkys are available online from businesses online that have nothing to do with the product and company I've seen at my local Babies R Us; and secondly, that a handful of the folks producting the versions sold on Etsy and eBay have products that are being recalled due to serious safety hazards to babies.  EEK!

Check out the following recall closely, as there are several different pictures available at the CPSC website for the various folks selling these items.  Please let me know if you've purchased one of these items and your baby is safe after you get rid of the product!  With my son half-asleep in his bassinette right now with his pacifier in his mouth, this is one I'm really sweating for other parents!

It seems like there is a new product recall everyday. I am especially concerned about all the recalls on children's toys and household products. I set up a personal file that alerts me to all product recalls and it sends me a timely notice when one of my products has been recalled.
