Okay, so after finding and posting all those recalls yesterday, I decided to do my own surfing instead of posting about it just yet. Trust me, it's to your benefit, because this delayed edition of Surfin' Sunday has some sites that I found that I believe will really interest you Workerettes, whether you're looking for parenting and pregnancy info or you're trying to lose weight and feel great. Or any combination thereof, frankly!
Don't forget to leave me links to your favorite blogs or websites too. I'm always on the hunt for someplace fun to surf to next!
- PoshMom.com: I ran across this site and blog thanks to the companion book, Living the Posh Mom Life, which I spotted recently at the bookstore. At the time I didn't buy the book because I wasn't quite sure about it, but now I've enjoyed the online resources so much that I really want the book. (And unfortunately my local library doesn't have it in their system. *sigh* The upside is I still have a bit left on the gift card for that store. Woohoo!)
- Lucy: I ran across Lucy thanks to an ad on PoshMom. The ad for the activewear caught my eye because it mentioned a coupon code for subscribers to their e-newsletters. If you visit their site, be sure to check out the sale pages and the favorite looks page. I'm totally coveting their yoga socks and this comfy-looking henley! Don't forget to sign up for that e-news so you can get the discount offer too.
- Stroller Strides: I've heard of the Stroller Strides workout in the past, but wasn't sure whether they offered videos or books for learning the routines at home. I have to admit I'm not the first one to jump into a class situation, especially when it's not free! (Although I do love the idea of the Stroller Strides franchises, especially for business minded moms who love to teach.) Unfortunately I didn't find a Stroller Strides DVD, but I did learn that the founder, Lisa Druxman, recently released a book called Lean Mommy. After digging around on the site for a bit, I headed off to Borders to look for Lean Mommy - when I flipped through it, I knew it was a must-have. The exercise programs offered in the book are right up my alley as they vary in equipment needs (from nothing but your stroller to exercise bands, the stairs in your house, or even a front carrier or backpack) and they are easy to adapt for C-section recovery. Each routine is laid out in an easy to view format so I can easily just omit things like ab work that aren't a good fit for me. SOLD! Once we get moved, I may even check out a real Stroller Strides class - we'll see.
