Is your child's school green and healthy? If you've been impressed by the healthy school meals your kids have access to, or the positive changes the cafeteria team at a local school have made, now is your chance to give them a shout out and a major thank you.
KIWI Magazine and FruitaBu are sponsoring a contest for schools who offer excellence in school meals. While the media normally focuses on the cruddy stuff, KIWI wants to encourage schools to make changes by celebrating them. If your child's school (or even the one you work for, perhaps?) is worthy of this award, get over to their website ASAP and nominate them!
The deadline is 30 September 2007, and there are categories for Preschools, Public Schools/School Systems, and Private Schools/School Systems (K-12 only, no colleges). Get over to their site for the rules, details, and other fun stuff KIWI offers every day.

Thanks for this great mention of the KIWI Crusaders Award. All of us at KIWI, along with our partner FruitaBü, are very happy to be able to offer schools a chance to show off the good things that they're doing for our kids! Check out our Class Leaders department in KIWI Magazine—we've already begun profiling schools across the country who have a commitment to good nutrition. Believe it not, there's a lot of them. Thank you again and we'll keep you posted when the winners are announced.
