Every Workerette knows how important it is to plan ahead and try to streamline things like grocery shopping, meal preparation, and kitchen storage in order to (hopefully!) add a few more minutes to the day.
Whether you're a single Workerette trying to plan things out so you'll eat something other than fast food, a working mom with a large family at home, or an empty nester ready to really relish your time in the kitchen, Menu Plan Mondays can get you started. I've learned a lot from the other ladies who participate, and hopefully I can pass on a few suggestions here on my own as well.
Yesterday we hit a Jewish Food Festival and had a wonderful time devouring chocolate-filled rugalach, strudel, latkes, and pastrami on rye. Since it was a fundraiser for the sponsoring congregation, we had to indulge, right? *grin* I also picked up a cookbook compiled by the families there and Tuesday's dinner is the first meal I'm going to try out from it. I'll let you know how it turns out!
Speaking of how things turn out: last week I gave the Three-Bean Chili recipe a shot with ground beef instead of ground turkey. It worked well! Moister than with the turkey, actually. Give it a try yourselves and let me know what you think.
- Monday: Sandwiches & Salad
- Tuesday: Chicken & Artichokes
- Wednesday: Lebanese Salad with Pitas
- Thursday: Tuna Club Squares
- Friday: Sausage with Four Beans (I'll post the recipe for this on Slow Cooking Thursday!)
- Saturday: Slow-Cooked Tamale Casserole
- Sunday: OUT to the Black Bear Diner - a restaurant we found here in CA, but have since learned we had up in WA, only 20 minutes from our house!
Be sure to visit Laura and the other bloggers participating in Menu Plan Monday for more great ideas (and recipes) for your meal planning!

Tuesday sounds great. I love artichokes.
