Whether you're a Workerette juggling a job outside the home, an at-home mom, a work-at-home mom or all of the above *yikes!*, you've probably wondered if a slow cooker would be useful for you. I'm personally learning that the answer is a resounding YES! Even if you aren't a mom (or perhaps, are a gramma or great-gramma), planning ahead can only be a good thing. It makes the budget a little less likely to break, the days a little more efficient, and with recipes like the ones these ladies are sharing, it can make dinner
Here's a little something for the football fans in our midst: Italian sausage hoagies.
What You Need:
- 10 Italian sausage links (uncooked)
- 2 T EVOO
- 1 - 26 oz. jar of meatless spaghetti sauce
- 1/2 medium green pepper, julienned
- 1/2 medium sweet red pepper, julienned
- 1/2 C water
- 1/4 C Romano cheese, grated
- 2 T dried oregano
- 2 T dried basil
- 2 loaves of French bread (20")
What To Do:
- Brown sausage in oil in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Drain. Transfer to 5-quart Crock Pot.
- Add spaghetti sauce, peppers, water, cheese, and spices.
- Cover and cook on low for approximately 4 hours (until sausage is no longer pink).
- Slice French bread lengthwise, not quite all the way through.
- Cut each loaf widthwise into 5 pieces.
- Fill each bread portion with a sausage and a healthy scoop of the pepper and sauce mixture.
This will feed 10 - or a couple of big guys with big appetites, like the type that my husband brings home! *chuckle* Tasty for tailgating, for sure.

Looks good. Thanks for sharing!
