Happy Columbus Day, Workerettes! I hope you've had a safe and fun holiday, and that hopefully you've had a three-day (or even four!) weekend. Obviously working from home means I don't really get any sort of paid holidays or vacations, but it's offset by being able to fiddle with the schedule as necessary.
This week I'm mirroring a post for Menu Plan Monday. In the future, my menu plans will be posted at my other blog, as will Slow Cooking Thursday. I strongly feel that every working person needs to be organized and prepared in order to make things flow smoothly, but feedback here from some Workerettes makes it appear that "homemaking" isn't a subject that they feel applies to their lives. I invite you to peruse the archives here at Workerette.com - I've posted some really yummy recipes, frankly. Be sure to pop by my other location for future menu plans and recipes, though. I'd love to hear from you there as well; I hope that seeing examples of someone else's menu planning and recipes will make things run smoother in your homes. If I see requests here for a return, I'll definitely consider it! Don't worry, I'll still post quick recipes to help you get through the week during time crunches, or to make the most of your time off work.
Now, that said, here's my menu plan for this week:
- Monday: Chicken & Sweet Pepper Rice
- Tuesday: Sandwiches (hopefully we'll check out the farmers market - I want to be able to eat on the way!)
- Wednesday: Lemon Pepper Tilapia & Veggies
- Thursday: Breakfast Burritos w/ Homemade Salsa
- Friday: Pasta w/ Meat Sauce
- Saturday: Parents Night Out (IF I can get one of the slots with the Child & Youth Services - they offer a monthly PNO and it is high time we took advantage of it!)
- Sunday: Sandwiches

Okay, so I'm a "Workerette" and I LOVE reading your Meal Plan Monday's and Slow Cooking Thursdays. I work away from my home 40+ hours a week (50+ if you count commute time!), have a baby on the way, and a live in boyfriend who works/commutes even more than I do. I LOVE reading your MPM's and recipes for ideas of how to plan my OWN weekly meal schedule. And the BF even INSISTS on cooking up his own recipes a time or two during the week!!! So while I'm sad to see it go off Workerette, you know I'll follow it over to Momma. 'Nuf said!
