Baby Splendor: Babies are a Booming Business!

babysplendorlogo.gifFor those of you who are looking for a home-based business opportunity, here's a little something that might be of interest: Baby Splendor.  For some strange reason I had never heard of them before, but it turns out this direct sales company has been around for several years, and they've earned some high praise from a variety of folks, including a mention in the December 2007 issue of Woman's Day!

As I scanned through their website, I was a little confused by the science behind the Baby Boost products, but I was interested in a lot of the other products.  The price for the introductory consultant's kit seems fair - for $99 you can get started as a consultant and your starting commission is 25% of sales.  Nothing to sneeze at, for sure!

From their ad in American Baby magazine (January 2008):

"It is often said that being a parent is the most rewarding job you'll ever have.  Become a Baby Splendor Consultant and you'll find even more rewards... as you build a business around parenting."

It definitely sounds like an exciting opportunity to me.  For those of you who aren't super stoked about the idea of selling via home parties, they do offer consultants their own webpages where customers can place orders.  Frankly I think this is a fantastic option for any consultant who wants to bring in the bucks but not head out to other folks' homes or host get-togethers herself.  It's also an easy way to head into internet marketing, whether you plan to stay with one business or ultimately start your own later.

Even if you're not looking for an independent sales consultant job somewhere, you may want to go check out the Baby Splendor site.  I found some really adorable things, especially on their sale pages.  I suppose it's pretty kitschy for a military wife like me, but I'm totally coveting this American flag hat and sweater.  My son's first birthday will be this July - I may well have to do some shopping for one-year pictures!  (If you like to host home parties to earn goodies, you can do that too; don't miss their info page on hosting!)

If you're already affiliated with Baby Splendor or have purchased some of their products, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the company and their offerings.  Leave a comment here - if you're a consultant, you can even market your business in a Meet & Greet interview here on Workerette.com!
