Whether you're a Workerette juggling a job outside the home, an at-home mom, a work-at-home mom or all of the above *yikes!*, you've probably wondered if a slow cooker would be useful for you. I'm personally learning that the answer is a resounding YES!
Even if you aren't a mom (or perhaps, are a gramma or great-gramma), planning ahead can only be a good thing. It makes the budget a little less likely to break, the days a little more efficient, and with recipes like the ones these ladies are sharing, it can make dinner
I've gotten a little bored with the slow cooker recipes I have on hand, so I decided to start searching online for some new things to try. In honor of Thursday Thirteen, I'm going to share links to 13 of them with you today.
Try these on for size and tell me which turn out to be your favorites:
- Barbequed Venison - this will fit the bill for the hunters/huntresses out there!
- Crock Pot Banana Bread - who knew you could make banana bread in the slow cooker??? I am SO trying this soon!
- German Potato Salad - oh, this is perfect for picnic season!
- Rabbit Stew or Pheasant Stew - another good one for the homesteady types
- Crockpot Tuna Casserole - talk about comfort food!
- Crockpot Fish Chowder - this one sounds soooo easy; could be a winner.
- Beef and Bulgur - I'd classify this one as "incredibly easy" - sounds pretty healthy too!
- Beef and Pea Pods - forget expensive takeout; this one's a family dinner for sure.
- Jamaican Curried Lamb - I'm learning we can go "around the world in 80 days" with our Crock Pots!
- Joe's Crockpot Potato Soup - this one can be adapted very easily for vegetarian preferences. Note the cheese option too; YUM!
- Slow Cooker Apple Butter - I'll be putting this recipe aside for when I learn to can! What a perfect item for the pantry or gifts for family and friends!
- Crock Pot Pasta - those of you who keep a good supply of pasta on hand, like I do, will enjoy this whole PAGE of pasta recipes. Just close your eyes and point and you've got a menu plan going. *chuckle*
- Cauliflower and Potato Curry - a vegan recipe to polish off the list! This one's part of a nice big collection of recipes that sound tasty.
